How to Upload Your First Release
Uploading your first release on Dismusic is a straightforward process. This guide will walk you through each step to ensure your music is distributed correctly to all major streaming platforms.
Before You Begin
Before starting the upload process, make sure you have the following ready:
- Your audio files in WAV format (16-bit, 44.1kHz)
- Cover artwork (3000x3000 pixels, JPG or PNG format)
- Release information (title, genre, release date, etc.)
- ISRC codes (optional, we can generate these for you)
- Songwriter and producer credits
Step 1: Navigate to the Distribution Page
After logging into your Dismusic account, navigate to the Dashboard and click on the "Distribute" button in the sidebar. This will take you to the release creation page.
Step 2: Enter Release Information
Fill in the basic information about your release:
- Release Type: Select whether this is a single, EP, or album
- Title: Enter the title of your release
- Primary Artist: Your artist name (this should match across all platforms)
- Genre: Select the primary genre that best fits your music
- Secondary Genre: (Optional) Select a secondary genre if applicable
- Release Date: Choose when you want your music to be available on streaming platforms (we recommend at least 2 weeks from submission)
- Language: Select the primary language of your lyrics
Step 3: Upload Cover Artwork
Click on the artwork upload area to select your cover image. Remember:
- Image must be 3000x3000 pixels (square format)
- JPG or PNG format only
- File size should be less than 10MB
- Avoid using explicit content, logos, or text in your artwork
Step 4: Add Tracks
Click "Add Track" to begin adding songs to your release. For each track:
- Upload the audio file (WAV format)
- Enter the track title
- Add any featured artists
- Specify if the track contains explicit content
- Add songwriter and producer credits
- Enter ISRC code (or select "Generate ISRC" to have Dismusic create one for you)
Repeat this process for each track in your release.
Step 5: Select Distribution Platforms
Choose which streaming platforms you want your music to appear on. By default, all major platforms are selected, including:
- Spotify
- Apple Music
- Amazon Music
- YouTube Music
- Tidal
- Deezer
- And many more
You can deselect any platforms you don't want to distribute to.
Step 6: Review and Submit
Review all the information you've entered to ensure everything is correct. Pay special attention to:
- Spelling of titles and artist names
- Release date
- Track order
- Selected distribution platforms
Once you're satisfied, click the "Submit" button to complete your submission.
What Happens Next?
After submission, your release will go through our quality check process:
- Pending Review: Our team will check your submission for any issues
- Approved: Once approved, your release will be delivered to the selected platforms
- Distributed: Your music will appear on platforms according to your selected release date
You can check the status of your release at any time in the "Releases" section of your dashboard.
Tips for a Successful Release
- Submit your release at least 2 weeks before your desired release date
- Ensure all information is accurate and consistent with your artist branding
- Consider promoting your release on social media before and after it goes live
- Use the pre-save links provided in your dashboard to build anticipation
